Short Reads and Tips: Regulation and Stress Recovery

Stress does not stay neatly within the working day. It can shape how you think,  how your body feels when you stop, and whether time away actually leaves you restored. The demands of work and life often run into one another, so the way you move through one part of the day can affect the next.

These short reads offer practical ways to notice your stress patterns, make room for regulation and recovery, and respond differently during a demanding week. Each focuses on one idea or something to try, and most take three or four minutes to read.

Browse whatever feels relevant, or start with one of the pieces below. If you want the fuller picture, the Integrated Guide to Nervous System Training explains the science underneath in more depth.

Hi, I’m Nicola Turner, MSc. I bring 17 years of psychological practice, 10 years in HR, an MSc in CBT and specialist training in physiological recovery, nervous system regulation and body-based approaches.

My approach to nervous system training brings together an understanding of how body, mind, brain and environment interact under stress, and how you can work with those patterns to navigate life’s pressures with greater ease.

I work with individuals carrying ongoing responsibilities at work and at home who want to feel less caught up in stress, less exhausted and more able to switch off. If you’d like to explore how this approach could support you personally, see how I work with individuals.

I also work with organisations to deliver workplace talks and training for managers, HR professionals and coaching teams who want to understand how stress affects people at work and what can help.
